About Riverbed Psychology
Riverbed Psychology was created by Dr. Miles Meason after he had been in solo private practice for almost 10 years. The practice was created with the intention to merge clinical excellence with loving kindness. We have offices in Denver and Carbondale, Colorado, and offer online and in-person counseling services for individuals, couples, relationships and families. We specialize in acceptance based behavioral therapy and attachment based Emotionally Focused Therapy.
There are too many spaces in the world that are unsafe or harmful to people. There is suffering and injustice in the world that is often created by prior suffering and injustice. As a practice, our intention is to help the people of Colorado grow and heal so that we can begin to create positive, loving change in the world. The wonderful part about that healing process is that while the growth can often be painful and challenging, the outcomes can lead to freedom, happiness, peacefulness, acceptance, love, kindness, generosity, altruism, belonging, empowerment, and a deeper understanding of ourselves.
As human beings, we are born into a world that is not organized around loving and accepting us. As we grow, we learn to protect ourselves in order to stay safe, and while those protections are important, they can also sometimes keep us from embracing a more full expression of ourselves. This might mean that we keep others at arms distance, not allowing someone close enough to truly hurt us. It might lead us to restricting our own emotional process or exploration of our needs. That might also mean not allowing ourselves to ask, “What do I really want and what truly matters to me?” Often this process leads to fear, hurt, shame, anxiety, depression, and avoidance of those moments where this internal conflict arises. Riverbed was organized to help people navigate that process around self acceptance, fear, shame, hurt, vulnerability, love, and connection.
We believe in you.

For Belonging
May you listen to your longing to be free.
May the frames of your belonging be generous enough for your dreams.
May you arise each day with a voice of blessing whispering in your heart.
May you find a harmony between your soul and your life.
May the sanctuary of your soul never be haunted.
May you know the eternal longing that lives at the heart of time.
May there be kindness in your gaze when you look within
May you never place walls between the light and yourself.
May you allow the wild beauty of the invisible world to gather you, mind you, and embrace you in belonging.
