Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy Groups
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Group
Saturdays at 10am
2/1/25 – 3/8/25
1557 N. Ogden St., Denver, CO
Description
Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) is a modality that uses ketamine to enhance and deepen psychotherapy. KAP supports us in expanded exploration of our inner and outer worlds, and thus, deeper understanding and acceptance of self and others. KAP is offered to individuals, couples, and with groups of people. Group KAP is an ideal format for folx who are seeking support from others who are on similar healing and growth journeys. Group KAP offers advancement in individual goals while learning from peers, giving and receiving emotional support, and relating to each other’s experiences.
Prescription Ketamine
Prior to beginning the group, you’ll meet with Dr. Dae individually and, if this group feels like the right fit, she will place a referral to our ketamine prescribing partner Journey Clinical. You’ll then schedule a virtual visit with a Journey Clinical medical provider who will complete an evaluation to ensure KAP is safe for you. If it is, your medication will be mailed to you. You’ll receive your medication about two weeks after the appointment and you’ll bring it with you to group dosing sessions.
Group Size
Each 6-session group will be made up of 3-5 participants. This is a closed group, which means the same 3-5 participants will attend all 6 sessions and new members will not be invited into an existing group.
Cost
See details about cost in the KAP Group Therapy Package section of this website. Overall, the cost of the group is $100/clinical hour for a total of $1300 for the intake and 6 group sessions. The cost of your initial medical consultation and prescription with your Journey Clinical provider ($338) is separate and will be paid directly to their organization.
If you choose to pay for the entire group therapy package by 1/6/2025, you will receive 15% off the total cost of services with Dr. Dae.
Format
The 6 sessions are all in-person and include two preparation, two dosing, and two integration sessions. Preparation and integration sessions will be 90 minutes and dosing sessions will be 3 hours.
Preparation involves getting to know the other group members and exploring each other’s intentions for joining the group. You’ll be invited to conversation about expectations, desires, fears, and hopes about the dosing session. Facilitators will provide information about the ketamine experience, review guidelines, and answer any questions about the process.
Dosing sessions will begin with group discussion and review of intentions, a mindfulness exercise, co-creation of the journeying space, an inward ketamine journey, group processing and reflection, and light snacks. For dosing sessions only, you’ll be required to coordinate a chaperone to provide you transportation to/from the session. It is recommended that your chaperone be someone reliable who you feel comfortable around.
Integration sessions follow dosing sessions, which allows us to continue to process insights from the ketamine journey, make meaning of the experience, and develop practices to support sustained change. The group will serve as supportive community and provide accountability to follow through on commitments to ongoing integration.
Facilitators honor the sacred role of providing physical comfort (e.g., pillows, blankets, scents, lighting, etc.) and holding emotional space for all participants by promoting deeper intimacy in conversation. Dr. Dae’s therapeutic style emphasizes the value of emotional exploration, compassion, authenticity, and alignment with our true selves as part of a larger whole. The format of the group offers flexibility for open discussions we feel called to dive into while maintaining structure by utilizing thoughtful prompts, reflections, and activities.
