Academic Assessment
Identifying the right kind of support for your learning journey
At Riverbed Psychology, academic and learning evaluations examine the relationship between cognitive ability and academic performance across different subjects to identify where strengths and challenges lie. Because mood and behavior often affect learning just as much as any cognitive difference, full psychological testing is included as a standard part of these evaluations when there are signs that anxiety, depression, attention difficulties, or emotional factors may be contributing. Sorting out what is driving the struggle matters, because the right kind of support looks different depending on the answer.
Results are shared in a written report delivered within two weeks, followed by a conversation to walk through findings together. Reports include specific recommendations for accommodations, educational supports, and next steps for talking to a school, employer, or treatment provider.
